Le Cœur des Vignes is a 19th-century stone townhouse in the village of Saint Lambert at Pauillac, right in the heart of Médoc vineyards and the Pauillac designation. Ideally situated for visiting wine chateaus, it is also close to the Gironde river estuary and Atlantic coast beaches. The house has a garden planted with trees, a swimming pool and a secure car park for guests’ use only.

Having bought the house in November 2016, we undertook renovation work to open four guest rooms in May 2017. Each room is uniquely decorated and has its own private bathroom and toilet. We are currently renovating a fifth guest room on the second floor of the house. The house is beautifully spacious, with wooden floors and stone walls.

A hallway with old cement floor tiles leads to a magnificent spiral staircase. Three bedrooms are situated on the first floor of the house, while the fourth is on the ground floor, with private access from the garden.

Guests are welcome in the dining room where we serve breakfast and evening meals. The living room is a relaxing space where you will find tourist information, guide books and board games.

Pascale prepares the meals in a large kitchen with a lot of character.

When the weather is fine, guests are welcome to use our securely enclosed swimming pool. The pool is heated and has a large tiled terrace with a charming little exposed-stone building where we will be delighted to serve you a refreshing drink or aperitif. Sun loungers and parasols are available for our guests’ use.

The guest house entrance, at number 19 Chemin du Marronnier, has a large electric gate and stone wall. From across the way, there is a beautiful view over vineyards and the magnificent Pichon Baron chateau, where Pauillac’s second grand cru classé vintage wine is made.

A gravel driveway provides car parking space for our guests. From there, a path alongside the pool leads to the house.

The garden has many different trees, including a superb eucalyptus, as well as several arbours covered in climbing roses and wisteria.

In summer, dinner can be served outside, either on the terrace or in the garden. We have designed a few small outdoor areas in which to relax, and hammocks can be hung in the shade of trees.
